Homestead National Monument Invites Visitors to Annual Prairie Seed HarvestCelebrate fall at Homestead National Monument of America at Beatrice, Nebraska on Nov. 9, 2013, by helping the monument harvest prairie seed and learn about the diversity of the tallgrass prairie.

Starting at 1 p.m., visitors are asked to come to the Education Center to help gather prairie grass seeds. The locally collected native prairie seed will be used in maintenance and restoration projects. The harvest will begin with a short orientation at the Education Center where visitors will learn about the species that are to be collected.
