Hiker Found Dead on Santa Cruz Island; Fall from Cliff Probable CauseA fall from one of the cliffs at Santa Cruz Island within Channel Islands National Park off of Southern California may have claimed the life of Christopher Anthony Mondiek, 23, from Dublin, Ohio, rangers said.

Mondiek's body was found on the morning of Dec. 18, 2012 on the beach at Yellowbanks Anchorage, not far from Smugglers Cove. Search and rescue crews made the discovery shortly after 8 a.m.
