Winter Park-Fraser Valley, one of Colorado's popular resort areas, is readying "Snowfest," the theme for the resort's annual winter carnival, will be held on Jan. 21-23, 2011, at various locations throughout Winter Park and the Fraser Valley.

Hosted by the Winter Park-Fraser Valley Chamber of Commerce, the festival features everything "snow" including a parade and fireworks.

Thousands of ballooning fans and enthusiasts from around the world will gather Oct. 6-14, 2012 at Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico for the 41st Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.

The breathtaking mass ascensions featuring two waves of hot air balloons will fill Albuquerque's morning skies with hundreds of balloons on both weekends and on Wednesday of Balloon Fiesta.

To celebrate the presence of humpback whales in Maui, Pacific Whale Foundation will host its highly popular annual Maui Whale Festival now through Sunday, May 15, 2011.

Last year, more than 25,000 visitors attended the Maui Whale Festival. The 2011 festival is newly expanded and consists of dozens of events for Maui visitors and residents.

Maui Whale Festival's signature event
Whale Day, will take place on Saturday, Feb. 19, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Kalama Park in Kihei.
