Carolyn Joyce is a national treasure. In costume or not she brings the history and lore of Fort Smith, Arkansas to life as few people can. Of course, getting to tell people about a brothel that is on the National Register of Historic Places does give her a great start.

She chats with Paul about the new US Marshalls museum that is being planned and also the colorful characters, like the famed "Hangin' Judge" Isaac C. Parker. They've even saved his jail aptly named "Hell on the Border." Check out the website and you'll find enough history, stories and attractions to keep you visiting for months. And as Carolyn reveals, the whole area is a sports and outdoor recreation paradise. Not to mention the hunting, fishing and fall color.
