The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is an annual festival of hot air balloons that takes place every October in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

It is the largest gathering of balloons and balloonists in the world.

The Balloon Fiesta is still the premier international ballooning event, according to organizers, powered by the perfect October climate and a phenomenon called the "Albuquerque Box." The combination of weather patterns and geographic landscape creates the box, allowing balloonists to control and even retrace their adventure.
