The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo. is getting into the holiday spirit for this 2012 winter season with joyful celebrations, family-friendly activities and getaway packages for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve.

With great service, spacious accommodations and the unparalleled beauty of the Cheyenne Mountain backdrop, the AAA Five-Diamond and Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Broadmoor resort is a wonderful destination for families and couples to unwind and enjoy each others' company throughout the holiday season.

broadmoor_christmasFor the upcoming holidays, the Broadmoor offers three distinct getaway packages: a Thanksgiving Package, the Traditional Broadmoor Christmas Package and the New Year's Eve Gala Package.

All three include overnight accommodations along with complimentary access to special holiday activities.

The Broadmoor welcomes the holiday season on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 with the 26th Annual White Lights Ceremony, an evening of live music, celebration and special guest performances during which more than 260,000 strands of lights will brighten the nighttime sky.

Holiday celebrations call for sumptuous meals to enjoy with friends and families, and with a variety of culinary options, guests can indulge in spectacular Thanksgiving and Christmas buffets and special holiday menus at the Broadmoor's award-winning restaurants such as Colorado's only Five Star Five Diamond restaurant, Penrose Room, as well as the classic Lake Terrace Dining Room.

December at the Broadmoor is magical and unforgettable.

The annual Classic Broadmoor Christmas offers six dates in December of enchanting entertainment, perfect for the whole family.

The heart-warming holiday dinner show includes special performances by Broadway star Linda Purl, the 25-piece Broadmoor Pops Orchestra and The Colorado Springs Children's Chorale, along with an appearance by Santa Claus. Dinner show dates are Dec. 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 24.

In addition to the retail stores open year-round at the Broadmoor, the traditional Broadmoor Christmas House, a holiday shopping market, is open late September through mid January.

Here, guests can browse a variety of unique ornaments and gifts, from elegant décor to fun snowmen and elves. From Thanksgiving through mid-December, children will have the opportunity to meet and take photos with Santa as well.

The Broadmoor closes out 2012 in style with the annual New Year's Eve Dinner and Gala.

This special night features special jazz performances by The Broadmoor Pops Orchestra, Nelson Rangell and award-winning vocalist Camilla Formica. It is a perfect setting for friends and family to dance, enjoy great food and conclude the year.

Opened in 1918, the Broadmoor is located at the gateway to the Colorado Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs.

The resort encompasses 3,000 acres with three championship golf courses, 744 lodging rooms and suites, including the new Cottage suites.
