Tsunami Causes Some Damage to National Parks

The 9.0 earthquake that struck Japan on Friday, March 11, 2011 produced a tsunami that crossed the Pacific and came up on the shores of National Park beaches from Guam to the West Coast.

As of Friday, March 14, the National Park Service said no visitor or employee injuries have been reported. There has been some damage, mostly in Hawaii and around Redwood National Park in California.
