Arizona is gearing up for basbeball's 2011 spring training, and Tempe, Ariz., located in the center of the metropolitan Phoenix area,will be home plate for Cactus League Spring Training.

From Feb. 25 through March 29, Cactus League Spring Training brings 15 Major League Baseball teams to 10 stadiums to play more than 200 games in 33 days. Spring training schedules, stadium maps, ticket information and Tempe hotel specials can be found at

Cactus League Spring Training is a great opportunity for fans to preview the 2011 Major League Baseball season and enjoy Arizona's famous sunny skies.

Favorite teams such as the Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers make up the Cactus League.

For the first time, the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies will move from Tucson to the new Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, located on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, just northeast of Tempe.

Tempe Diablo Stadium is home to the Angels. Recently renovated, this stadium offers visitors a scenic mountain view and has one of the lowest lawn seating ticket prices in the league - just $6.

Die-hard baseball fans won't want to miss the opening of Play Ball, The Cactus League Experience at the Arizona Historical Society Museum in Tempe's Papago Park.

The 3,000 square foot exhibit will include more than 400 items that show the history of Cactus League Spring Training in Arizona. New items include a rare 1951 New York Yankees Spring Training program from when the Yankees were at Phoenix Municipal Stadium for only one year.

There is also a silver serving tray engraved with the signatures of the 1954 World Champion New York Giants. The exhibit will look at the teams that have called Arizona home and the ways the teams impacted local communities. The exhibition opens in Tempe on Feb. 19.
