The Queen Mary, the historic transatlantic liner that is now a hotel resort in Long Beach, California, is offering a New Year's Eve 2009 celebration package that includes five entertainment venues and a fireworks extravaganza for one low price plus a range of accommodation and dining packages.

For one low ticket price of $89 guests may enjoy five parties and a gigantic fireworks display. Additionally, the Queen Mary is offering deluxe dining and room packages to ensure a New Year's Eve spent in style.

Jazz by vocalist Eddie Wakes, Latin-inspired entertainer Red Loquita, swing and dance classics from The Wise Guys Big Band Machine, dueling pianos, and live D.J. music will provide non-stop entertainment in five different venues on the ship.

Partygoers in each salon will celebrate midnight in a blizzard of confetti before heading to the Verandah Deck for a spectacular fireworks display to light up Long Beach.

The Queen Mary is offering four exclusive New Year's Eve room packages. Each includes tickets to the ship's celebration, accommodations, party favors and dinner for two prepared by the ship's award-winning culinary team overseen by newly-appointed Executive Chef Larry Banares. Individual dining packages are also available and include tickets, party favors and the Grand Gala Dinner Buffet or dinner in Sir Winston's, the Queen Mary's newly-renovated signature restaurant.

Advance reservations and payment are required for all accommodations packages. Tickets to the ship's celebration are available to guests 18 and older. Parking is $15 per day. For more information, see

Golden Nugget Las Vegas Opens New Rush Tower

The Golden Nugget Las Vegas has opened its new Rush Tower, a $150-million luxury development that the city is applauding as a key part of downtown redevelopment efforts.

"Rush Tower will now define the ultimate Las Vegas experience providing exceptional accommodations as well as add to the already supreme dining opportunities and exceed the unparalleled customer service already delivered to our guests," said Tilman Fertitta, Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Landry's Restaurants, Inc., which owns the property. "The tower is the latest in our ongoing renovation and expansion projects at the Golden Nugget, which now total more than $300-million, and which will certainly up the ante for other properties in Las Vegas."

Rush Tower includes an impressive porte cochere which is accented by a new, million-dollar landscaped entrance at First Street and Carson Street.

The tower includes more than 500 well-appointed guestrooms which are 20 percent larger than the Golden Nugget's current North and South standard rooms and offer room selections for any occasion.

The tower also includes four Penthouse Suites and 70 Junior Corner Suites, which provide incredible views of the Las Vegas Strip or of the famous Golden Nugget pool.
