Masters of the American West Fine Art Show Opens Feb. 7

If you're a fan of Western art, plan on being in Los Angeles Feb. 7 to attend the 12th annual Masters of the American West Fine Art Exhibition and Sale at the Autry National Center.

Recognized as one of the country's most important Western art shows, this prestigious exhibition challenges nationally recognized artists to exhibit their very best work. The juried exhibition and sale feature more than 70 artists whose work is stylistically and thematically diverse.

"The Autry's Masters exhibition shows the extraordinary range of influence and creativity that the landscapes and peoples of the West continue to inspire in artists," said John Geraghty, Autry National Center Trustee and Special Advisor to Masters.

On Saturday, Feb. 7, Masters will open with special programs and exhibition viewing. Museum patrons can view the exhibition from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and attend a chuck wagon luncheon and special artist presentations.

Following is an evening cocktail reception, culminating in the sale of the works, in which there are opportunities to participate in an intent-to-purchase drawing and a limited silent-bid process on selected works.

The Masters of the American West Fine Art Exhibition and Sale opens to the public on Feb. 7, and all of the artwork in the show will remain on exhibit through March 8, 2009.

For a complete list of artists, visit
www.AutryNationalCenter.org. For event and ticket information, call Janet Reilly at (323) 667-2000, ext. 317.
