Paul Lasley and Elizabeth Harryman have been professional journalists and broadcasters specializing in travel since the days when flying was fun, Harris added. Their travel reports are heard daily on American Forces Radio in more than 170 countries as well as at OnTravel.com (www.ontravel.com).
Paul and Elizabeth are the regular travel columnists for Westways, the magazine of the Automobile Club of Southern California. It is the single most influential travel publication in Southern California.
Elizabeth is the travel editor of Westways and editor of Hawai`i Westways. Elizabeth also is the consulting travel editor for Texas Journey and New Mexico Journey. The two have traveled much of the world, but their first love has always been the West and the stories and scenery that make it endlessly fascinating, the couple said.
Paul and Elizabeth's best-selling book, Honeymoons: A Romantic Travel Guide is the winner of a Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Award. Another book on romantic getaways in the West is in development. They are married and live in Southern California.
"We are thrilled to be working with Mike Harris and his team at OldWestNewWest.Com Travel & History Magazine," they said. "Our goal is to bring the West to life by discovering those places and stories where the spirit and history of the West is still found. We'll also bring our online readers stories and information on the West as it exists today though the events and festivals where visitors can enjoy Western life."
The e-Zine will be adding more audio and video features, and Elizabeth will help direct the travel content, Harris said. Additionally, one of their immediate assignments will be to develop a weekly blog called "On Travel in the West." They will answer reader questions about what to see and do in the West.
"In addition to offering up travel tips and ideas, we will give everyone a chance to share their Western adventure discoveries as well," they said.
